Casey shows the easiest way to install your rotary attachment for laser engraving on cylinders. We use the standard table for our laser engraver about 50% of the time. Steps: 1. Ensure your table is lowered. 2. Flip up the alignment rails. 3. Make sure to line up the pin holes in the bottom of the table with the pins on the bottom of the rotary attachment. 4. IMPORTANT! Make sure the alignment rails are flipped back down before using the laser. 5. Make sure the laser is turned off prior to plugging the rotary attachment in.
How to Install the Rotary Attachment on an Epilog Helix Laser Engraver
In this video, Casey walks you through how we engrave insulated, powder-coated mugs that have handles. These can be a bit trickier than other mugs and they require a little more setup time, but it's worth it in the end. We like to use the rotary clamp, but you need to watch out for the threads in the lip of the mug. Install the rotary clamp and install the YETI. Lining the lip of the cup up with the rear roller seems to work best. You need to make sure the handle has clearance prior to engraving. We like to set up our page size to the size of the mug as if it were unwrapped. This allows us to perfectly align the artwork to exactly where we want it on the mug. Tips and tricks! Always check for clearance on the rotary attachment. Make sure you note the location of the handle. It needs to clear the rotary attachment. Set xy axis and line up with the center of the mug.

In this video, we're going to teach you how to center engrave your design onto a YETI mug using a 60-watt Epilog Helix laser. This is an easy and fun way to add a beautiful design to your YETI, or any insulated mug. Center engraving makes sure your design is perfectly aligned in the middle of the mug. We like to manually set the center point by lining up the "E" in the YETI logo and then lining up the laser with the center mark. Having a proper setup is crucial to your design. We like to "unwrap" whichever style mug we are using and use that as our artboard in Corel draw. This way, when we use the rotary attachment for the laser, the design is engraved exactly where we want it. After we engrave powder-coated mugs, we typically have to use a residue remover because there is a little leftover. Al and I took the opportunity to take the kids on an adventure and head to Christman's Meat Market in Oley PA to get him a quarter sheet of the tomato pie.
